Krabi sits in southern Thailand, a few hours from Phuket, with limestone karsts rising out of the sea and Muay Thai gyms that rarely show up in the typical tourist directories. It's not the largest training hub in Thailand, but that's the point — camps here are smaller, more personal, and often run by former fighters who actually train alongside you.
This guide covers the camps currently listed on Train & Travel for the Krabi region. All pricing and details are sourced directly from the camps.
What to Expect Training in Krabi
Sessions typically run twice daily: morning (around 07:00–09:00) and afternoon (16:00–18:00). Most camps in Krabi cater to a mix of beginners and intermediate fighters. Unlike Bangkok or Chiang Mai, you won't find 50-person training floors here — groups are small, and pads are held by experienced trainers.
Climate: hot and humid year-round. The rainy season (May–October) brings afternoon showers but rarely disrupts training. December to February is the driest and most comfortable time to train.

How to Choose
Beginner? Look for camps that explicitly list beginner sessions and offer accommodation on-site — the structure helps. Camps with mixed levels and patient trainers are ideal for your first week.
Intermediate or fighter? Ask about sparring schedules and the trainer's own competition background. Small camps where the head trainer is a former fighter will push you harder.
Budget matters: Most Krabi camps charge €25–50 per day for training + accommodation combined. Private sessions (1-on-1 pad work) cost extra but accelerate progress significantly.
Getting to Krabi
Fly into Krabi Airport (KBV), which has direct connections from Bangkok (BKK, DMK), Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. From the airport, camps are typically 20–60 minutes by taxi or songthaew depending on whether you're heading to Ao Nang, Krabi Town, or more remote areas.
